Coco Hostel Khao Sok

Nice hostel with big comfy beds! I didn't do a tour with them, so can only comment on the rooms. Good shower with hot water. Only 1 toilet for the dorm it seemed, but it was always available when I needed it. Small lockers available with your own lock, and I also saw 3 big lockers at the end of the beds that can fit full size luggage. Staff was very informative at check-in. I was dealing with an ear infection so couldn't hear properly but she wasn't mean about me making weird concentration faces and turning my head as she was speaking 😂 One thing to remember is don't lose the deposit paper because you have to return it along with the key card and towel to get your deposit back. I had the strawberry ice cream and it was good!

We spent one night in Coco Hostel in Khao Sok and did their 2-day/1-night floating bungalow tour (wasn’t on website but accommodated over email). The hostel was super nice! Very clean, good service, and spacious rooms. Would absolutely stay here again. The floating bungalow tour was also incredible! Super scenic, very knowledgeable guides, and very good group of people! The food was average and the rooms were not great (mattresses on floor, not sealed so bugs/reptiles could get in, etc.) but the experience was phenomenal! I would definitely recommend this tour.

Hostel itself is nice however would recommend booking the overnight tour to the lake with another company! National park is lovely and definitely worth going, but with this hostel you’re in a huge group of 50+ people and it’s not well organized at all. For example we ended up waiting at the pier for about an hour while other groups were already leaving. You arrive at the bungalows around 2 and then leave at 9:45 the morning after. Also I got food poisoning (probably from the rice on the last day which had been sitting outside, saw other people commenting this as well so AVOID IT)!

We have not been at the hostel itself so this review is only about the booked overnight lake tour. We strongly advise to NOT book this tour via coco hostel (or jungle huts tours) due to very unsafe situations, false advertising, and very unprofesional staff. - the advertising states a departure from the pier at 10 a.m. they are however fully aware that this schedule is not achievable. We were picked up at the office at 11.15 and left the pier at around 12.30 (so already 2,5 hours late) - the state of the accomodation is unsafe with a big nail sticking out of the wooden dock. As a result one of the guests tore open his foot which needed surgical care in the hospital. None of the staff was able to provide adequate first aid and there was no first aid equipment available at the bungalows. The staff saw it merely as a burden that they had to arrange a boat to bring him back to the pier. - due to being far behind schedule we rushed through the cave (with 60 people) without proper guidance which again led to unsafe situations with slippery slopes and lose rocks we had to rush over. - due to being late we got back in pitch dark on boats without proper lights. The afternoon safari was skipped without any notice. - the morning safari started more than half an hour late and was thus a 30 minute quick boat tour past a few spots. - according to schedule we should have had a few hours to relax on the lake to swim or kayak. However we already had to leave at 9.45 (instead of 12 pm). Lunch at the bungalows was skipped as well as any real time to relax. - we got back at the pier before 12 pm. Resulting in a total time on the lake of less than 24 hours. - in the end there was lunch on a parking place on the dam Needless to say this was one of our most disappointing experience during our travels through Asia and felt like a total ripoff.
